My most recent visit was the first follow-up post surgery. We covered how I was recovering, how my wounds were healing and my general state of health. Dr Laila Cunin covered all the questions I had, specifically about what activities I could and couldn't do, and what to expect moving forward. She gave clear advice and feedback on my progress and made sure I was comfortable with how I was progressing. It's a a continued reflection of my visits, where Dr Cunin has continuously tried to give as much information as possible, answer any queries and generally try and reassure that although my surgery was complicated and at times scary, there was a clear path to recovery.
I recently underwent a major, high-risk procedure (Completion Proctectomy & Subtotal Colectomy) under the care of Ms Laila Cunin due to severe Crohn’s disease. Having battled complex Crohn’s for over 25 years, I have been through countless procedures and treatments, but Ms Cunin’s dedication to exceptional care and outcomes is the best I have encountered. This specific procedure carries significant risks both during and post-surgery, but Ms Cunin's immense knowledge and straightforward, clear explanations put me completely at ease. She didn't just treat me; she supported my entire family throughout the process. A testament to her incredibly caring nature was the fact that she personally took the time to speak to my wife immediately after finishing my 10-hour surgery to reassure her. From my very first consultation right through to my post-op follow-ups, her patient care has been unparalleled. She took a very difficult, complex health situation and delivered an absolutely exceptional outcome. Ms Cunin is amazing. She is extremely knowledgeable, deeply compassionate, and quite frankly, the only surgeon I will use should I ever need to. I cannot recommend her highly enough to anyone in need of a top-tier colorectal surgeon.
I have a vast medical history with many complexities, which means things are not straight forward with me. Last year, I ended up having a subtotal colectomy with end ileostomy under the care of Dr. Laila Cunin, and I could not recommend someone more highly. From the first consultation she has been amazing, she is very thorough, honest, supportive and clearly explains everything. This operation had always been my worse fear, but Laila reassured me and made me feel at ease, she knew I had previously had some negative experiences with my health care, but I had and still do have complete trust in her. Post operatively, whilst in hospital and since being home through follow ups the level of genuine care and professionalism has remained, she has made a full plan for next steps including me in the decision process, which just reinforces my trust in her. She is extremely skilled and has her patients wellbeing at the centre of all she does, my end results have been great and im a so very grateful for all she has done and continues to do. High recommend.
I saw Miss Cunin after I contacting her secretary regarding new symptoms I am getting. As always she met me with a smile and compassion. We chatted through a plan together and she explained everything in detail to me. I left my appointment feeling listened to and cared for. As always.
Dr Cunin was reassuring and honest. She explained wverything that was to happen in simple easy to understand ways ensurinf that I unserstood the procedure and the process and knewvwhat to expect. At the same time explaing risks.
Dr Cunin is brilliant. I had an urgent really painful issue, it was incredibly overwhelming. She saw me as an urgent case and got me sorted rapidly - dealing with my pain as a priority. She's very responsive and always checks in to make sure my recovery is on track.
I found Laila to be really kind and supportive throughout my treatment. I have been struggling for some time and embarrassed by my symptoms but she was so understanding and put me at ease straight away. She always takes the time to explain things clearly and is always available when you need to advice.
