Dr Krishnaraj Rathod

Dr Krishnaraj Rathod is a Consultant Interventional Cardiologist at Barts Heart Centre (St Bartholomew's Hospital) and Cromwell Hospital, as well as a Senior Clinical Lecturer at Queen Mary University of London. Graduating with two distinctions from Barts School of Medicine alongside a First-Class Honours intercalated degree in Molecular Therapeutics, he completed a PhD in translational medicine funded by a prestigious NIHR Doctoral Research Fellowship. He is an award-winning interventional cardiologist, clinical lead, and Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology (FESC).

Dr Rathod's clinical expertise centres on complex high-risk interventional procedures (CHIP) and advanced intracoronary imaging techniques, including IVUS and OCT, to optimise coronary stent placement. He plays a leading national role in cardio-renal medicine as clinical lead at The Royal London and St Bartholomew's Hospitals and Co-Chair of the National Cardio-Renal Clinical Study Group. An active researcher, he has authored over 130 peer-reviewed publications in major journals and serves as principal investigator leading multicentre interventional clinical trials.
