Mr Kieran Atkinson

Mr Atkinson is a Consultant Plastic, Reconstructive and Cosmetic Surgeon based in Newcastle upon Tyne. He holds a substantive consultant position at the Royal Victoria Infirmary, where he provides comprehensive plastic and reconstructive surgical care, with a particular specialist interest in adult hand surgery. He has also practiced at the SK:N Group in Newcastle and Manchester since 2023, delivering both surgical and non-surgical aesthetic treatments alongside his NHS practice.

A graduate of Newcastle University, Mr Atkinson qualified in Medicine in 2013. He commenced specialist training in Plastic Surgery in 2016 and completed his training in 2025. To further refine his expertise, he undertook advanced fellowship training at Salford Royal Hospital, the highly competitive Training Interface Group (TIG) Fellowship in Hand Surgery, and the prestigious Niall Kirkpatrick BAAPS/BAPRAS Aesthetic Fellowship.

Alongside his clinical training, Mr Atkinson completed a Master of Research degree with distinction and remains actively involved in research and academic practice. He has presented his work at numerous national and international meetings and continues to contribute to the advancement of the specialty.

Mr Atkinson has a strong commitment to education and training. He holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Clinical Education and is regularly invited to teach on regional, national and international plastic surgery courses.

His practice encompasses a broad range of reconstructive, hand and aesthetic procedures. He is committed to delivering safe, evidence-based care tailored to each individual’s needs and goals.
