About Mr Khaled Hosny

Mr Khaled Hosny is a Consultant Urological Surgeon with a specialist interest in minimally invasive upper urinary tract surgery, particularly robotic and laparoscopic renal procedures. He provides a broad range of core urological services alongside advanced minimal access techniques.

He began his medical training at Ain Shams University Medical School in Cairo, graduating with an MBBCh in 2005. He went on to complete a Master’s degree in Urology at Ain Shams University in 2010. He became a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (MRCS) in 2012 and was awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in Urology (FRCS Urol.) in 2018. He also completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education (PGCME) at Edge Hill University in 2016.

Mr Hosny has been practising as a Consultant Urological Surgeon since July 2019 and was appointed at East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust in September 2022. In his consultant role, he performs a wide spectrum of urological procedures with a particular emphasis on minimally invasive surgery. His practice includes robotic and laparoscopic upper tract surgery, inguinoscrotal procedures, cystoscopy and treatment for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), management of urinary tract infections and urinary incontinence, as well as vasectomy procedures.

In addition to his clinical work, Mr Hosny has played an active leadership role within the profession. As former Chair of the SAS@BAUS group, he has advocated for the interests and professional development of Specialty and Associate Specialist (SAS) doctors within the British Association of Urological Surgeons. Through this work, he has supported initiatives aimed at enhancing recognition, career progression and professional growth for SAS colleagues.

Very good, calming through the appointment and explained everything in detail, but also simply and well enough to ensure nothing was misunderstood. Very thorough and made sure I'd got all the information I needed before leaving.

Very Disappointed as I felt it was a waste of my time and his, only to be told he was going to refer me to another specialist and hospital to have my procedure done as it couldn't be done at fulwood Hall Preston ...

Mr Hosny seemed to question why I had come? Obviously I was there because the radiology ultrasound department had referred me through my GP. I had not asked for the appointment! Of the consultants I have met who have been courteous and respectful I cannot say that of this experience. I will not be returning to him!
