Dr. Karen Egan

Dr Karen Egan is a highly experienced General Practitioner, registered since 2006, with a longstanding commitment to both clinical excellence and healthcare leadership. She qualified in medicine with a BM BS from the University of Nottingham in 2000, laying the foundation for a career that spans two decades in general practice.

Alongside her clinical work, Dr Egan holds a senior strategic role within the NHS as Associate Director of Nursing for Infection Prevention and Control, and Deputy within the Infection Prevention and Control Team at the Suffolk and North East Essex Integrated Care Board. In this position, she plays a key role in shaping and delivering infection prevention strategies across healthcare settings, supporting patient safety, service quality, and system-wide resilience.

Her career reflects a strong commitment to improving standards of care at both individual and population levels, combining hands-on medical practice with leadership in quality improvement and healthcare system management.
