Mr Kanagaraj Marimuthu

Mr Kanagaraj Marimuthu is a Consultant General Surgeon specialising in Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery and Bariatric Surgery. He is based in the North Midlands and practises as part of Infinity Surgery across hospitals in the North Midlands.

Mr Marimuthu obtained his medical degree from The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, India in 1993. He completed his post-qualification surgical training in hospitals across the West Midlands and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. He also holds a PhD from the University of Nottingham, UK.

In his current practice, he typically sees patients with conditions such as: gallstones, obesity, hernia, GORD and appendicitis. He has a wealth of experience in performing advanced laparoscopic surgery, gallbladder surgery, hernia surgery and anti-reflux surgery. He has special interest in utilising the newest technology, he has recently began researching into the use of endobariatrics.

He also is skilled in carrying out other surgical procedures such as: cholecystectomy, appendicectomy, oesophageal surgery, gastric bypass and obesity surgery.

Mr Marimuthu has also published several papers in the area of his expertise in renowned peer review journals such as The Journal of Physiology.
