Dr Joseph Guadagno

Dr Joseph Guadagno is an experienced Consultant Neurologist who provides comprehensive care for individuals affected by complex neurological conditions. Known for his reassuring and patient-centred approach, he works closely with patients to deliver accurate diagnostic evaluations and tailored management plans. His clinical practice covers a broad spectrum of neurological disorders, with a dedication to achieving optimal health outcomes through evidence-based care.

Within the field of Neurology, Dr Guadagno specialises in multiple sclerosis and white matter disease. He possesses expertise in assessing brain metabolism and cerebral blood flow changes in ischaemia using advanced neuroimaging techniques, including MRI and PET scans. Furthermore, he maintains an active role in clinical research and therapeutic trials, allowing him to integrate current scientific developments into patient care.

Dr Guadagno completed his undergraduate medical training at Glasgow University, where he earned his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) alongside a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Neuroscience. He subsequently undertook specialist training in Neurology before gaining a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from Cambridge University, focusing on novel neuroimaging techniques in cerebral ischaemia. He completed a clinical fellowship in multiple sclerosis and holds membership with the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP). Alongside his clinical practice, he serves as an Honorary Clinical Lecturer, contributing to medical research and training.
