Dr Jonathan Ellenbogen

Dr Jonathan Ellenbogen is an accomplished Consultant Neurosurgeon specialising in paediatric and functional neurosurgery. With a focus on complex brain and neurological conditions, he delivers thoughtful, patient-centred surgical care to children and young people. His clinical practice covers a broad range of neurosurgical interventions, including surgical management for epilepsy, movement disorders, brain tumours, and craniofacial anomalies. Dr Ellenbogen completed his undergraduate medical studies at The University of Birmingham, earning a Bachelor of Medical Science with Honours in 2001 and a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery with Honours in 2004. He subsequently completed comprehensive specialty training in neurosurgery, achieving Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in Neurosurgery, FRCS (Neuro.Surg), in 2014, followed by his Certificate of Completion of Training in 2016. To further refine his expertise, he completed sub-specialty clinical fellowships in paediatric neurosurgery, epilepsy surgery, functional neurosurgery, and craniofacial surgery. Dr Ellenbogen holds professional memberships with several prestigious organisations, including the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, the Society of British Neurological Surgeons, the British Paediatric Neurosurgery Group, the International Society of Paediatric Neurosurgery, the British Society for Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery, and the World Society for Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery.

His clinical work includes performing intricate deep brain stimulation procedures for movement disorders and complex stereoelectroencephalography (SEEG) evaluations for severe epilepsy.
