John Daly is a dedicated Physiotherapist and Advanced Clinical Practitioner Trainee with a wealth of experience across various healthcare settings. Within the NHS, he has served as a Senior Physiotherapist, overseeing Junior Physiotherapists and mentoring Physiotherapy students. His professional journey also includes extensive work in private practice and sports environments, where he has catered to athletes engaged in athletics, Gaelic football, football, and rugby.
In his practice, John employs a diverse range of treatments tailored to each patient's needs. These include hands-on techniques, personalised exercise plans, acupuncture, and running gait analysis, all aimed at achieving optimal outcomes for his patients.
John's main area of expertise lies in addressing running-related injuries. He has delivered presentations to running clubs, offering insights on injury prevention, cadence optimization, and related topics.
A passionate runner himself, John intimately understands the physical demands of long-distance running, often logging over 100 kilometres per week during marathon training. This firsthand experience enables him to provide valuable guidance on injury management, training strategies, and coping mechanisms for runners facing injury setbacks.
His specialist interests cover a wide range of areas, including running injuries, foot and ankle conditions, bone stress injuries, tendinopathies, ACL rehabilitation, pre and post-operative rehabilitation, as well as shoulder and knee pain management, and medial tibial stress syndrome.
Beyond his professional pursuits, John finds enjoyment in skiing and holds full qualifications as a sailing instructor.

I have been having appointments with John for a few months now. He is absolutely brilliant. I come out of each appointment more motivated and positive. He is super practical in his advice and tailors it to my specific circumstances in a way that I find really refreshing. He's not interested in simply alleviating the pain but in helping me get stronger so I"m able to do more over the long term. He's the best physio I've ever come across and I would recommend him highly.
I was initially referred to John by another physiotherapist at PureSports Med for dry needling of my thoracic spine. I was hesitant at first, as I had been working successfully with an all-women physiotherapy and strength team this year, and had previously suffered from overload by male physiotherapists. Given that my main sport is kayaking, I was also unsure whether a running specialist would understand my needs or focus too much on my knees. However, I found John’s approach to be gentle, holistic, and highly personalised. He not only addressed my injuries but also went above and beyond to support my training for an upcoming kayaking race. Throughout our sessions, John helped me rethink my relationship with rest and offered practical guidance on fueling strategies for both race day and training. His advice was tailored to my lifestyle and my rare metabolic condition, and it significantly reduced my pain. The exercises he prescribed were targeted and progressive, allowing me to improve week by week. After reinjuring my shoulder in May—when I could barely lift a kettle—John encouraged a gradual return to sport, helping me stay connected with my community. He also suggested journaling successful training weeks to identify and replicate what worked. I exceeded my expectations by placing third in my race, even while continuing to recover. I highly recommend John to anyone feeling overwhelmed by their recovery, managing multiple injuries, or seeking a practitioner who listens and offers holistic care.
I have had the pleasure of working alongside John and have always been impressed by his deep knowledge, passion and clinical expertise, particularly in managing running-related injuries (shin splints, stress fractures etc) and tendinopathy. His evidence-based approach, combined with a keen understanding of biomechanics, allows patients to not only recover effectively but also return to activity stronger and more resilient. John is truly dedicated to patient care, taking the time to assess each case thoroughly and develop tailored rehabilitation plans that address both the symptoms and under...
