Throughout his distinguished career, Dr Brooks has accumulated extensive experience working within elite sport and private practice both in the UK and internationally. He has served as the full-time Team Doctor for a national women's rugby union team and has worked closely with professional rugby clubs. His career also includes several years practising in Melbourne, Australia, where he treated recreational athletes and worked with numerous elite sports organisations. His international roles have spanned Australian Rules Football, rowing, netball, basketball, hockey, and rugby union, including serving as the immediate care lead for a major international rugby test. He also works with national sports institutes, bringing elite-level medical expertise to his everyday clinical practice.

Dr Brooks qualified in medicine in the UK, earning his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) alongside a Bachelor of Science (BSc). Committed to academic excellence, he went on to complete an MSc in Exercise Physiology and a PhD in Sports Injuries, which involved establishing a major professional rugby injury surveillance project to track and analyse sports-related injuries. He is a Fellow of the Faculty of Sport and Exercise Medicine (UK) and an Associate Member of the Australasian College of Sport and Exercise Physicians. An active researcher and educator, Dr Brooks has co-authored more than 40 peer-reviewed publications in sports medicine, presented his work at international conferences, and continues to teach Sport and Exercise Medicine to current and future Doctors and Clinicians.
