Dr. Jemma Reid is a consultant psychiatrist with over 15 years of experience working with adults in both the NHS and private sectors. She has extensive expertise in managing a variety of mental health conditions, including mood disorders (such as bipolar affective disorder and depression), anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), psychosis, personality disorders, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and autism.
Dr. Reid is particularly skilled in the recognition and treatment of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and neurodevelopmental disorders, especially Autism and ADHD.
She earned her medical degree from the Royal Free and University College London Medical School in 2009 and became a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in 2014. Throughout her career, she has worked in a range of settings, treating both outpatients and inpatients, and has previously worked with the National OCD and Body Dysmorphic Disorder Service.
Dr. Reid has a commitment to holistic care and completed a diploma in Lifestyle Medicine through the British Society of Lifestyle Medicine in 2020. She is an advocate for greater awareness and understanding of neurodivergence and has completed both the foundation and enhanced autism training programmes offered by the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
Her research interests are focused on OCD and autism, and she is currently leading research studies in these areas within the NHS. Dr. Reid has published multiple papers and book chapters and presented her work internationally. In 2024, she was appointed chair of the Obsessive Compulsive and Related Disorders clinical network in the UK. Dr. Reid has also previously served as the academic representative for the South West division of the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
