Dr James Brown is a highly accomplished Consultant Cardiologist who provides expert, patient-centred care for a wide range of cardiovascular conditions. In addition to general cardiology, Dr Brown has a particular interest in advanced cardiac imaging and exercise physiology. He has extensive experience in utilising cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to assess heart function and structure. His clinical and research interests also extend to pulmonary hypertension and investigating the underlying mechanisms of exertional breathlessness. Dr Brown began his medical journey at the University of Cambridge, graduating from Gonville and Caius College in 2008 with his primary medical qualifications, having also studied physiology and psychology. He subsequently completed his specialist training in cardiology within the London region. Furthering his academic pursuits, he was awarded a PhD from University College London, where his research focussed on cardiopulmonary exercise testing and cardiac imaging. Dr Brown is a member of several prestigious professional bodies, including the Royal College of Physicians (London), the British Cardiovascular Society, the British Society for Heart Failure, the European Society of Cardiology, the British Society of Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance, and the Society for Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance.
