Dr Jamasp Dastur

Dr Jamasp Dastur is an experienced Consultant General Surgeon who provides high-quality, patient-centred surgical care. Specialising in General Surgery and Colorectal Surgery, he combines clinical skill with a compassionate, reassuring approach to support individuals through every stage of their treatment pathway. Dr Dastur works closely with multidisciplinary clinical teams to ensure that patients receive thorough diagnostic evaluations, personalised treatment plans, and comprehensive post-operative care tailored to their individual needs.

His clinical practice encompasses a broad spectrum of general and lower gastrointestinal conditions. Dr Dastur has a particular interest in advanced laparoscopic (keyhole) techniques, which offer patients reduced post-operative discomfort and faster recovery times. His areas of expertise include the management of colorectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, diverticular disease, and benign anorectal conditions such as anal fistulae and incontinence. In addition, he performs emergency abdominal interventions, laparoscopic colectomies, and complex hernia repairs, incorporating enhanced recovery protocols to optimise patient outcomes.

Dr Dastur earned his medical qualification (MBBS) alongside a Master of Arts (MA) degree, subsequently achieving Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS). In addition to his clinical practice, he is deeply committed to surgical education and governance. He holds senior educational leadership roles, including serving as Deputy Training Programme Director and Royal College of Surgeons Tutor, where he leads surgical training initiatives and mentors the next generation of Consultant Surgeons.
