Dr Ioanna Parisi

 Dr Ioanna Parisi is a Consultant Gastroenterologist practicing within the NHS at
University College London Hospitals (UCLH) NHS Foundation Trust and privately
across London through HCA Healthcare. She graduated from the University of
Thrace, Greece, with an MBBS in 2004 and has developed extensive expertise in
the diagnosis and management of a broad range of gastrointestinal conditions. 

Dr Parisi has a particular clinical interest in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD),
including Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, as well as irritable bowel
syndrome (IBS). She is actively involved in the specialist care of young people
with IBD and leads a dedicated weekly endoscopy list for adolescent patients
within the UCLH Adolescent IBD Service, providing tailored diagnostic and
therapeutic care during a critical stage of development. 

She also leads the Video Capsule Endoscopy service at UCLH, one of the
higher-volume capsule endoscopy services in the UK. The service performs small
bowel, colon, and pan-enteric capsule endoscopies, including remote procedures
that allow suitable patients to undergo capsule endoscopy at home. Through
extensive dedicated capsule reading experience and her leadership in this area,
Dr Parisi has built a high level of expertise in interpreting capsule endoscopy
studies and supporting the minimally invasive assessment of small bowel and
colonic conditions. 

She is highly experienced in a range of advanced diagnostic procedures, including
colonoscopy, gastroscopy, upper gastrointestinal endoscopy (OGD) and flexible
sigmoidoscopy. Her commitment to delivering evidence-based, patient-centred
care is complemented by her ongoing involvement in clinical research. 

Alongside her clinical practice, Dr Parisi remains active in publishing research within
the field of gastroenterology, contributing to advances in the understanding
and treatment of digestive diseases and helping to improve outcomes for
patients.
