Dr Ilia Sergeev is a highly skilled Consultant Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist who provides patient-centred care for individuals experiencing a broad spectrum of digestive health and liver conditions. He approaches clinical practice with reassurance and clarity, ensuring patients are fully informed and comfortable throughout their diagnostic and treatment journey. Dr Sergeev is dedicated to improving patient outcomes through tailored care plans and modern, evidence-based therapies.

Dr Sergeev obtained his medical degree from Tel Aviv University before undertaking comprehensive specialist training in internal medicine, gastroenterology, and hepatology. He subsequently completed a dedicated clinical fellowship in neurogastroenterology at Queen Mary University of London, developing advanced expertise in oesophageal conditions and gastrointestinal motility disorders. In addition to his clinical work, Dr Sergeev has contributed to medical research with publications in peer-reviewed journals and contributions to textbook chapters, particularly concerning reflux disease. He also actively serves as a co-chair for upper gastrointestinal cancer multidisciplinary team meetings, collaborating with clinical colleagues to ensure coordinated, high-quality patient care.

In his clinical practice, Dr Sergeev manages complex gastrointestinal and liver conditions, including gastro-oesophageal reflux disease, eosinophilic oesophagitis, Barrett's oesophagus, achalasia, irritable bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease, and liver disorders. He possesses extensive expertise in endoscopic procedures, performing both diagnostic and therapeutic gastroscopy, colonoscopy, and transnasal endoscopy. His procedural skills also encompass therapeutic interventions such as polyp removal and stricture dilatation, delivering precise and effective care to his patients.
