Mr Igor Occhipinti

Mr Igor Occhipinti is a Consultant Ophthalmologist specialising in cataract surgery, glaucoma management, and lens replacement procedures. He is a fully registered medical practitioner with extensive experience in ophthalmic surgery, helping thousands of patients improve their vision and reduce dependence on glasses and contact lenses.

He studied medicine in Rome before completing specialist ophthalmology training at the University of L’Aquila in Italy. He developed significant surgical expertise at Ospedale Oftalmico di Roma, where his work focused on corneal transplantation, cataract surgery, and refractive procedures.

Mr Occhipinti went on to hold consultant ophthalmic surgeon positions at Ospedale Città di Quartu and Policlinico Sant’Elena before continuing his career in the UK.

His UK experience includes working as a Consultant Ophthalmologist at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, completing a fellowship at Moorfields Eye Hospital, and holding consultant and leadership roles at Lincoln County Hospital and Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust.

Mr Occhipinti has a particular interest in cataract and lens replacement surgery, combining specialist surgical expertise with a focus on achieving high-quality visual outcomes for his patients. He currently performs lens replacement surgery at Optical Express in Southampton.
