Very polite reception offering drinks on arrival. Had checks completed before the doctor arrived saving time. The doctor allowed me to explain without any interruptions. Dr Mellor explained in detail the results and answered all my questions at no time did anything feel rushed. Very reassuring team, credit to them all.
I have seen many specialists over my time and I never write reviews. Dr Mellor was exceptional.
I met Dr Mellor on the who explained my current prognosis in respect to very recently experienced Atrial Flutter. He was clear and concise as to what was on offer for me, going forward. Following discussion it was agreed that I would undergo an Ablation under general anaesthetic which was scheduled within two weeks. Dr Mellor met me at Papworth explained again the process I would be going through reassured me and the operation took place as scheduled. Immediately after my recovery Dr Mellor explained exactly what had been undertaken and advised me concisely of future actions I should take in the immediacy and intermediary action to draw final assumptions on my progress. I received excellent care throughout this process from a Dr who is obviously in high demand and a respected professional in his field of work (Heart Electrician).
I was very reassured during my consultation that my problem was explained very clearly . Also, further examinations were possible which may assist to identify the problem. Dr Mellors manner has given me the confidence that he can help me with my issues
Doubtless many grateful comments speaking to Dr. Mellor’s expertise and manner will have been left ahead of anything I might write, I shall therefore confine myself to two aspects which, I suspect, may feature less frequently in such reviews. Firstly, I appreciated being given the time to fully explain the background to the consultation; much of what I had to say was peripheral to the clinical matter at hand yet it was important to me to be heard and I was given the space to be fully expressed. Secondly, the letter, subsequently drafted by Dr. Mellor, was free of “back-covering” caveats – in this litigious and defensive world, this was a refreshing change. On both counts and more, thank you.
DR. Mellor, was fantastic from start to finish, I was fully assured throughout the whole process of having an ablation. The good news is i've been afib free since the procedure. would highly recommend Dr Mellor if anyone is thinking of having an ablation done with his expertise at the Royal Papworth. Even the after care he offers is only a phone call away to speak to if you need him. I cant thank you enough for changing my life. Regards Luke
Dr Mellor inspires confidence. It's evident that he knows very well what he's doing, and he explains it clearly.
Dr Mellor listened carefully to my concerns and explained anything I didn't understand very clearly.
