Dr. Gleb Ivanov

Dr Gleb Ivanov is a Consultant Haematologist with extensive international training and experience in both clinical medicine and research. He qualified as a doctor in Minsk, Belarus in 1996 and later completed a PhD in Haematology and Biochemistry in St Petersburg, Russia, where his research focused on the role of calprotectin in haematological conditions.

Following his doctoral research, Dr Ivanov was awarded a Royal Society Postdoctoral Fellowship in 1997, which enabled him to conduct research at the Leucocyte Adhesion Laboratory at the Imperial Cancer Research Fund in London. He subsequently progressed into specialist medical training in haematology across several major UK cancer centres, including the Royal Marsden Hospital in Sutton, the Christie Hospital in Manchester, the University Hospital of Wales, and Velindre Cancer Centre in Cardiff.

He completed his higher specialist training in haematology at the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff and was appointed as a Consultant Haematologist at Southend University Hospital. In 2011, he joined Surrey and Sussex NHS Trust, which remains his primary NHS base.

His specialist interests include lymphoma and coagulation disorders, although in his general haematology practice he manages a broad range of blood disorders in a district general hospital setting, providing diagnostic and ongoing care for patients with complex haematological conditions.
