Dr Gary Gutteridge

Dr Gary Gutteridge is an experienced Consultant Anaesthetist specialising in Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine. With a patient-centred approach, he provides comprehensive perioperative care, pre-procedure evaluations, and tailored pain management services. Dr Gutteridge is committed to delivering safe and compassionate care to support patients throughout their surgical and pain management journeys, ensuring optimal comfort and peace of mind.

His clinical expertise encompasses general Anaesthetics, pre-assessment care, and complex pain relief strategies. Dr Gutteridge maintains a special interest in medication management, working closely with patients and primary care teams to safely reduce the burden and risks associated with long-term pain medication, particularly opioids. Furthermore, he is involved in clinical research exploring interventional procedures, such as radiofrequency ablation for persistent lower back pain.

Dr Gutteridge qualified in Medicine at the University of Oxford in 1992 before undertaking specialist postgraduate training in Anaesthetics, obtaining his Certificate of Specialist Training in 2002. To further broaden his clinical portfolio, he completed subspecialty training in Pain Medicine. He is recognised as an Affiliate Fellow of the Faculty of Pain Medicine within the Royal College of Anaesthetists.
