Mr Farhan Alvi

Mr Farhan Alvi is a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon with a specialist interest in foot and ankle surgery. He has been a Consultant at Glan Clwyd Hospital, Bodelwyddan, since 2018 and also provides private treatment at Spire Yale Hospital and Spire Abergele Clinic.

Mr Alvi graduated from King's College London before completing postgraduate orthopaedic training in Manchester, qualifying as a specialist in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery in 2015. He subsequently completed a nationally recognised Foot and Ankle Fellowship at Wrightington Hospital, Lancashire, an internationally recognised centre for specialist orthopaedic training. He also holds an MSc in Orthopaedic Engineering from Cardiff University.

His clinical practice encompasses the diagnosis and management of a wide range of foot and ankle conditions, including sports injuries, arthritis, joint pain and stiffness, bunions, toe deformities, soft tissue and ligament injuries, ganglion cysts, ingrowing toenails, and degenerative conditions. He provides both non-operative and surgical treatment options, including joint injections, joint manipulation, imaging-guided assessment, and foot and ankle surgery. Where clinically appropriate, he utilises minimally invasive surgical techniques to support recovery and optimise clinical outcomes.

Alongside his clinical practice, Mr Alvi is actively involved in research and medical education. He has published more than 15 papers in peer-reviewed medical journals and has presented his research at national and international scientific meetings, including the British Orthopaedic Research Society. He is also an Honorary Clinical Teacher at Cardiff University School of Medicine.

Mr Alvi is a member of the British Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society (BOFAS) and the European Foot and Ankle Society (EFAS).
