Ms Esther Perera

Ms Esther Perera is a highly skilled Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon who provides comprehensive care for conditions affecting the mouth, jaws, face, and neck. Her clinical practice encompasses a broad spectrum of surgical and diagnostic services, ranging from routine dentoalveolar procedures to the management of complex facial conditions. Ms Perera is dedicated to delivering individualised, evidence-based care, ensuring that each patient receives clear guidance and reassuring support throughout their treatment journey.

Ms Perera holds dual qualifications in Dentistry and Medicine, graduating with her medical degree from the University of Aberdeen in 2000. She completed her basic surgical training followed by a specialist higher surgical training scheme in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in the South West of England. To refine her specialist skill set, she completed an advanced Head and Neck Fellowship at the University of Maryland, Baltimore. Ms Perera is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and holds professional memberships with the British Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the British Medical Association, the General Medical Council, and the General Dental Council.

Her areas of clinical focus include oral medicine, head and neck oncology, facial dermatology, and the management of salivary gland diseases. Ms Perera routinely treats patients experiencing facial trauma, temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders, soft tissue mouth lesions, facial pain, and mouth ulcers, alongside performing surgical procedures such as tooth extractions and wisdom teeth removal. In addition to her clinical commitments, she contributes to postgraduate medical and dental education, acting as an Educational Supervisor and Clinical Supervisor for doctors and dentists in training.
