When I had a baby in June I kept hearing the same three phrases from almost every health care professional I met. The first was “trust your instinct”. So far so good, quite helpful advice. However when we had major feeding problems (including my beautiful tiny baby screaming whenever she fed and eventually refusing the breast) I was dismissed by multiple midwives with the 2nd most common phrase - “all babies cry, it will get better”. When I said I was sure something wasn’t right, I got the 3rd stock phrase “all babies are just so different”. So there I was, a new mum in the middle of a global pandemic, sure something wasn’t right and yet at every turn I was (at best) dismissed, and (at worse) misdiagnosed. I got to the point I doubted myself and wondered if it was all in my head. In desperation I emailed the Obstertrican who delivered my baby as I trusted him. He suggested I speak to Dr Ed. I read these reviews on this page and booked straight in. - Dr Ed listened to me, reassured me that my baby would be ok and he would help (I breathed such sigh of relief), asked thoughtful questions, finally clearly explaining his diagnosis. - Together we came up with a plan, which would minimise the need for medication - whilst ensuring my baby wasn’t in a pain any longer. At the expense of writing War and Peace (!) a few other things: - Dr Ed doesn’t just look at the child but the whole family unit. My husband has been to see a doctor this week for the first time in years because of him, and I’m very grateful for that too! - Dr Ed is so patient, no question feels silly - which has really helped my peace of mind as a new mum. For example when my daughter started coughing oddly on a Sunday night he came to our rescue! As you can probably tell I’m hugely grateful to Dr Ed, feel privileged for him to be my daughters doctor, and trust him implicitly. He is both friendly and interesting and, as far as I’m concerned, the best paediatrician you could find! To any other new mums suffering - my personal view is feeding problems are not normal... it’s worth getting them checked out, I regret getting swallowed up in unnecessary focus on my breast feeding technique when what we really just needed was to see a great doctor.

We had an outstanding experience with Dr Abrahamson. My son had injured himself and we urgently needed to see a doctor just few hours before catching a flight. Dr Abrahamson understood our situation and he arranged to treat my son and for me get the medication without wasting time so that we could make it to the airport on time. His explanation about the procedure were very clear and was so kind to my son throughout. He also provided us with a doctor note for the medication (liquid) which we had to carry-on our flight. This has helped us so much to pass the security at the airport easily. What surprised me the most was that I received emails after we arrived to our destination. He kindly followed up and checked my son’s injury for few days by pictures, kindly answered my questions when I needed! Just amazing. I can’t thank enough for everything that Dr Abrahamson had done for us.

It has been such a pleasure dealing with Dr Abrahamson! Our son has been misdiagnosed by an unqualified Physio therapist and Dr Abrahamson put our minds at rest upon a very thorough examination. He has been following our son’s development and again gave us lots of comfort and reassurance. He takes time to understand the problem, listens and explains everything without rushing. He understands how anxious parents can be when it comes to the health of their children and he definitely put my mind at rest. My son felt very comfortable with him ( no crying at all) as Dr Abrahamson is very delicate and entertaining. Will definitely be coming back with my children. Thank you!

    Limp General Paediatrics
Our 2 years old developed a limp after tripping over, the limp wasn’t gone after a week so we were concerned whether he had hurt his hip. During a Zoom consultation Dr Abrahamson observed our sons movements and he reassured us it wasn’t the hip, in fact a toddler fracture which he did recover from it after a couple of days consuming Nurofen just the way Dr Abrahamson had anticipated. This wasn’t our first experience with Dr Abrahamson, in fact we owe our son’s life to him. He was born with aspiration, suffering from breathing difficulties, choking, faster heartbeat,... after Seeing 5,6 paediatricians his condition remained undiagnosed until we got lucky to hear about him, on the day I met Dr Abrahamson in his office, after listening to my story about my son’s symptoms, he immediately said “ your son has aspiration”, and videofluoroscopy confirmed his diagnosis. I believe he is the best paediatrician in the whole UK and I just wish he doesn’t stop working until my children are grown ups :)

Dr Ed has been absolutely wonderful to deal with - we took our young son to see him after a recommendation from a friend. Our son was diagnosed with GORD, which made sense as he had the symptoms, especially the intensive crying, which had made feeding times a real battle. Dr Ed talked me through the options and we followed them step-by-step. One key thing along the path has been the recommendation to start early weaning, which our son has completely loved, and is substantially helping to reduce GORD. Dr Ed has shown so many first-class attributes - extensive experience, passion for supporting children and their parents through their problems, empathy and understanding, and responsiveness. My husband and I feel very grateful to have found such a doctor to help us, and to have changed our lives dealing with our four month old for the better.

Dr Ed was reassuring, thorough and kind in his assessment of our baby. He listened properly and gave clear, unpatronising explanations of the possible causes of our son’s ill health. He is wonderful with children (and anxious parents!) and after months of trying to get help from other places his help had an effect almost immediately.

Dr Ed Abrahamson, Is one of the best doctors I have seen in my life. My son was so happy to see him, Dr Abrahamson is very caring, efficient and professional. Is noticeable that he loves what he does, which is looking after children's health. I would recommend him to any parent, I was very concerned about my son and he helped us a lot and is still doing, by sending referral letters and follow up on my son's health.

I saw Dr Abrahamson after my 5 month old son's symptoms were ignored and misdiagnosed by my GP. Dr Abrahamson very quickly identified the cause as CMPA and came up with a clear treatment plan. He gave me specific guidance on how we would proceed, and calmly reassured my concerns as a nervous first time mother. Despite having to wear a mask due to Covid, he interacted very well with my baby. We saw a definite improvement within a week of implementing Dr Abrahamson's diet changes. Now 5 months on, my son is thriving. I really appreciate his quick diagnosis, patience (with all my questions), bedside manner and clear advice
