Susannah Hoey is a Consultant Dermatologist specialising in both adult and paediatric dermatology. She is based at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast and provides private clinics in the Ulster Independent clinic in Belfast.
Dr Hoey originally gained her MBChB from the University of Edinburgh, graduating in 1999. After completing her foundation training she went on to speciality training in dermatology, earning her CCT in 2007. As well as Dr Hoey's current clinical role in Belfast she has also written several academic publications.

Dr Susannah was polite and professional. She was clear from the outset on what her concerns were for my skin and gave a clear treatment plan. She booked in a review appointment to check on treatment plan and has now added this information to my GP notes which will reduce any wasted time/ concerns in the future.
A check up to review medication I had been placed on. Any questions I had were answered effectively.
The appointment was for my 9 year old daughter. Dr Hoey explained everything well to her and to myself.
This was a follow-up appointment, and I had a very positive experience. Dr. Susannah Hoey was professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely caring, making me feel comfortable throughout. She took the time to listen and explained my options clearly and thoroughly, which gave me real confidence in the next steps.
Dr Hoey was very welcoming and polite and explained everything to me in a way i understood.
Susannah was so lovely and really put me at ease. The appointment was very quick yet she provided me with all the details I needed.

Dr Susannah Hoey is absolutely wonderful. From the moment she opened the door my daughter, husband and I were warmly welcomed and felt immediately at ease. Warm, kind, professional, Susannah took time to speak with our daughter and explained everything in great detail to provide her the reassurance she (and us mums and dads too!) needed. She provided lots of tips for management moving forward and our daughter now feels a much more content. Fantastic consultant we highly recommend.
Dr Hoey saw our son for his ongoing eczema and was excellent throughout the appointment. She was very knowledgeable and took the time to clearly explain the different creams and ointments available, along with clear instructions on how and when to apply them. She also gave us helpful advice for our son’s nursery on how they can support his skin care. Dr Hoey was friendly and engaging with our young son, which helped her quickly build rapport and assess him with ease. We left the appointment feeling reassured and with a clear treatment plan.
