Professor Simcock MBBS MRCPI FRCR is Consultant Clinical Oncologist specialising in the treatment of breast cancer at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust in Brighton and Eastbourne and at private facilities in Sussex and Honorary Clinical Professor at Brighton and Sussex Medical School.
In addition to his breast cancer work, Professor Simcock also works three days per week as Chief Medical Officer to Macmillan Cancer Support.

The last two meetings have been follow ups from diagnostic scans. Professor Simcock always takes time to explain these and the consequences of the results. What I like is that he asks about other aspects of your life not just sticking to the issue at hand. I would always suggest to have some questions and use his valuable time productively
Richard is very personable. (I found his original explanation of my treatment easy to understand and comprehensive & the follow up letter set everything we had discussed out clearly). The following up meeting was a bit more relaxed for obvious reasons, but was helpful and professional.
As always, Professor Simcock is good in patient discussion, answering my questions with honesty and without embellishment. I was made fully aware of the protocols for radiotherapy, the side effects and the routine and has always been in the background answering questions through the CNS at the Nuffield in Brighton.
Professor Simcock 's natural approach is exceptional, demostrating both professionalism an straightforwarness.
Professor Simcock has been friendly, professional, and very easy to talk to throughout my treatment. He takes the time to explain everything clearly and makes sure you feel informed and reassured. His approachable manner and clear communication make a difficult process much easier.
I have been under the care of Richard for several years. He is a consultant with a full understanding of required treatment, also with an in-depth knowledge of medical advances in his field and beyond. You never feel rushed with Richard. He always takes his time to fully explain recent developments with treatment or diagnosis. Richard always looks to fully understand any concerns you have, always providing a considered and thorough response. I cannot recommend Richard highly enough.
I have been under the care of Professor Simcock for nearly a year following my breast cancer diagnosis. He is an excellent consultant that always takes the time to explain everything thoroughly and in a way that is clear and easy to understand. He also allows as much time as necessary each consultation to answer any further questions and listens and addresses them. He is up to date with all relevant recent research/ studies and is completely patient focused. It is also worth mentioning that he has an excellent medical secretary which means appointments, communication and contacting him if necessary is always prompt and straightforward . I feel very lucky to be under his care for my treatment as it has made a very stressful time much easier as I have total confidence in him as a consultant.
I did not speak to Dr Simcock but remain appreciative of the referral to Genesis care
Professor Simcock was professional and thorough in his approach and was clear in his communication regarding treatment plan. I felt comfortable and well informed throughout the entire process.
Dr Simcock has explained everything very clearly to me from the start so that I have felt fully informed with regards to my treatment and what to expect.
Excellent colleague and oncologist
