Dr Jonathan Cohen

Dr Jonathan Cohen is a Consultant in Paediatric Immunology and Infectious Diseases at Evelina London Children’s Hospital.

He received BA (Hons) from Cambridge University in 1995 before receiving his Bachelors of Medicine degree from Oxford University in 1998. He has an MSc in clinical paediatrics and a PhD from the UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health following an MRC-funded fellowship investigating immunity against pneumococcal pneumonia. He trained for several years at Great Ormond Street and St Mary’s Hospitals and completed his training in paediatric infectious diseases and immunology in 2013.

He spent 8 years further developing his practice as a consultant in general paediatrics and paediatric infectious diseases at UCLH, where he was divisional clinical director for children’s and adolescent services. He moved to Evelina London in 2021 where he currently leads the paediatric infectious diseases and immunology department.

Jonathan has held several wider leadership roles. He is currently Chair of the British Paediatric Allergy, Infection and Immunity Group, and previously served as Chair of the British Association for Paediatric Tuberculosis.
