Dr James Greenwood

Dr James Greenwood is a highly experienced Consultant Chest Physician and Intensive Care Physician, based at the Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital since 2009. He specialises in the full breadth of respiratory medicine, with particular expertise in cystic fibrosis, bronchiectasis and cardiothoracic intensive care. In addition to his NHS practice, he has been seeing private patients at Spire Liverpool since 2015.

Dr Greenwood manages a wide range of respiratory conditions and has extensive experience in treating cough, breathlessness, chest infections, COPD, asthma, non-CF bronchiectasis, sleep apnoea and the full spectrum of general respiratory disease. His approach combines thorough assessment with evidence-based treatments to ensure clear diagnosis, effective management and long-term support.

Alongside his clinical practice, Dr Greenwood plays a key leadership role within his trust as the Patient Safety Lead at the Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital, contributing to the training and development of future clinicians.

Outside of medicine, Dr Greenwood is a keen follower of Bradford City Football Club, loves live music, travelling to the USA and walking his dogs
