Dr Duncan Dymond

Dr Duncan Dymond, Consultant Cardiologist, currently works at The Wellington Hospital in the cardiac unit, he is also working within the St Bart's Trust as an Emeritus Consultant Cardiologist. He is highly specialised in the treatment of adult cardiology, intervention cardiology, angioplasty, coronary heart disease, and cardiac imaging (CT and Nuclear). He also has a breadth of knowledge in the treatment of patients with chest pain, dizziness, and palpitations.

Dr Dymond began his medical education at St Bart's Medical School, where he graduated in 1972 with his undergraduate degree with two awards - Weizman Memorial Prize and was runner up in the Brackenbury Medicine Prize. He then went on to undertake his Higher Speciality Training in Cardiology, in which he focuses on both invasive and minimally-invasive techniques. During his training, he undertook a research degree (MD) which was later awarded to him for his work on cardiology. He has also received 2 years of training from an internationally renowned institute, Mount Sinai Hospital in the USA.

Dr Dymond was appointed consultant at St Bart's hospital in 1987. Previously, he has been a council member for the British Cardiovascular Intervention Society and has also held the position of Honorary Secretary of the British Cardiac Society. He performs a wide range of procedures including percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), which places stents within coronary arteries.
