Dr Clive Onnie

Dr Clive Onnie is a Consultant Gastroenterologist at the Whittington Hospital NHS Trust since 1997. He qualified from The London Hospital Medical School with distinction and continued his postgraduate training at St Mark's Hospital and Guys and St Thomas Hospital. He undertook a Masters in Medical Science at the Hammersmith hospital and obtained his PhD from Kings College, London, studying the genetics of inflammatory bowel disease. He was awarded a Digestive Diseases Foundation Research Fellowship. Dr Onnie is also Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University College London Medical School and the medical adviser to the North London Chapter of the Crohn's and Colitis UK Organisation.

Dr Onnie sees patients with all aspects of general gastroenterology conditions. He is an expert in the management of inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome, dyspepsia and reflux. He applies a holistic approach to the treatment of bowel problems, combining conventional and alternative medicine with particular emphasis on the importance of diet.

Dr Onnie is actively involved in research and is particularly focused on the genetics of inflammatory bowel disease and colorectal cancer. He has published extensively in some of the most renowned medical journals and has also co-authored several book chapters.
