Dr Barny Lucas

Following a sporting injury at a young age, Barny has always been fascinated at the body's ability to heal itself. Studying biology at school, opened Barny's mind up to many questions about the human body such as how it is possible that 75 trillion individual cells come together and form a thinking, moving, feeling human body, how and why do things go wrong and how can we return to health?

Studying chiropractic, health and healing has allowed him to investigate these questions and witness some of what the body is capable of. Barny believes that chiropractic is an art, science and philosophy and that all aspects need to be appreciated when treating patients. The whole is greater than the sum of its parts and so we need to know what we are doing, what happens when we do it and why are we doing it. The body has an innate or inborn intelligence and it is the nervous system that allows this intelligence to be expressed. This fundamental principle made the profession feel like a natural path for him to follow.

Barney understands how valuable it is to have a healthy body and his goal is to do everything he can to help his patients stay active. He himself keeps active through cycling, running and triathlons. Barney understands that patients don't come to him for chiropractic but rather to reach a level of health that they need to live the life they want through chiropractic. Barny is continually going to seminars to enhance and expand his knowledge and skills to help people to the very best of his ability.

Dr Lucas focuses his care on postural improvements through improved spinal biomechanics. The movement and alignment of the joints and skeleton of the body will influence how well your body can hold itself up and therefore the level of comfort and ease you experience.
