Dr Andrea Pucci is a Consultant Obesity Physician (Obesity Medicine, Diabetes, & Endocrinology) at the Centre for Obesity Research, Department of Medicine, Bariatric Centre for Weight Management and Metabolic Surgery, University College London Hospital (UCLH).
Dr Pucci graduated in Medicine and Surgery and completed his training in Endocrinology at the University of Pisa, Italy, where he also obtained his PhD degree in Neuroscience and Endocrine and Metabolic Sciences. Dr Pucci has been working in the UK for 10 years.
Dr Pucci specialises in general endocrinology and sees patients with a range of od endocrinological conditions. However, he is particularly interested in the treatment of obesity and obesity-related co-morbidities (including type 2 diabetes) and thyroid gland conditions. Dr Pucci is an expert in ultrasound screening of thyroid glands and fine-needle aspiration biopsy of thyroid nodules.
Dr Pucci is actively involved in research and works on the identification of pre-operative predictors of bariatric surgery health outcomes. He is an honorary lecturer at University College of London and has authored more than 30 peer-reviewed publications in international journals and textbook chapters.
