Mr David Shahnazaryan

Mr David Shahnazaryan is a Consultant Ophthalmologist and Refractive Surgeon with specialist expertise in vision correction, complex cataract surgery, corneal surgery and anterior segment surgery. His clinical interests include laser and lens-based vision correction, corneal transplantation, dry eye, anterior segment reconstruction and eyelid surgery.

Originally from Armenia, Mr Shahnazaryan graduated in Medicine from Yerevan State Medical University in 2001 and subsequently completed a residency in Plastic Surgery. He later undertook extensive specialist training in ophthalmology in Ireland and completed advanced subspecialty fellowships in refractive surgery, cornea and oculoplastic surgery.

Mr Shahnazaryan was awarded a Doctor of Medicine research degree for his scientific work on corneal diseases with the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. His further training included a fellowship in refractive surgery and fellowships in oculoplastics and cornea at St James's University Hospital and King's College Hospital.

Mr Shahnazaryan has also contributed to ophthalmic research through publications in scientific journals and work as a peer reviewer.
