Mr David Lin is a fellowship-trained lower limb arthroplasty surgeon with a specialist focus on hip and knee replacement surgery and complex revision procedures.
He was born and raised in Singapore before relocating to London in 2004. He completed his medical degree with honours at Imperial College London, followed by foundation and core surgical training in the North West Thames region. He went on to complete higher surgical training on the Percivall Pott rotation based at The Royal London Hospital.
Mr Lin further advanced his expertise through a competitive fellowship at Royal North Shore Hospital in Australia, where he trained under Professor William Walter. During this time, he gained experience in advanced arthroplasty techniques including ceramic resurfacing, navigated anterior total hip arthroplasty, and robotic-assisted, kinematically aligned total knee replacement.
He currently practises within the NHS at Homerton University Hospital, where he performs a high volume of hip and knee arthroplasty procedures. His trauma interests include complex periarticular fractures and periprosthetic revision arthroplasty.
In addition to his clinical work, Mr Lin is actively involved in academic research, with publications in high-impact journals. He has also been appointed Clinical Lead at Homerton, where he focuses on improving patient pathways and supporting the transition towards a day-case arthroplasty model, aiming to enhance efficiency and patient outcomes.

I was lucky enough to be referred to Mr Lin with knee issues. He actually said they weren’t as bad as the x-rays suggested and ruled out any major surgery treatments immediately. He then guided me through the options of injections/ physio giving me enough information to make my own decision on forward treatment. We opted for physio which has had a fantastic positive impact on my knee. I can do everything ( golf , gym ) without any pain. Mr Lin has been fantastic and I would recommend him without hesitation. Thankyou Mr Lin!!
Mr Lin was very patient and knowledgeable in explaining what having a new hip would involve. I trusted him completely and the procedure was carried out a month after I had my first meeting with him. The surgery went very well and I was out of hospital in two days. My recovery has been rapid and I’m off crutches six weeks after surgery. I would thoroughly recommend Mr Lin - and will have my second hip done by him if it ever needs to be done!
Mr Lin was really friendly right from the first appointment. He explained my condition really clearly and suggested the option for treatment. He was completely professional and answered all of my questions no matter what they were. He put me at ease at all times and was extremely knowledgeable.
Dr Lee Is second to none the most compatant Surgeon I have ever encountered,So caring about his patients that you can't go wrong with him ,he has God written all over his face. A surgeon of the Centary. Yours Sincerely J H.
My experience with Mr Lin is that he is very caring and he explains in detail step by step how the procedure will take place which is very reassuring putting my mind at ease. His very professional, knows his stuff and I trust his judgment
Mr Lin was professional & friendly during the whole meeting. I can’t say much more until I’ve had the results of further treatment. I’d be happy to comment afterwards.
Mr David Lin was very reassuring regarding my problem, he put my mind at rest, I left feeling relieved.
The appointment went well, the Doctor Lin was very polite, knowledgeable and thorough at addressing my health concerns. I feel at ease knowing we'll be addressing the case of my pain.
The consultation even though a polite exchange felt awkward. Mr. Lin himself looked uncomfortable and his pleasantries came across as disingenuous. His lack of concern or explanation around scarring around the scare was dismissive even though he questioned if the dark colouring was normal was it there before. After my reply of no he dismissed and normalised it as my skin normal healing process. I wasn't offered any other pain management for unoperated right hip which I did inform him was painful even though the left operated hip was not painful just sore and numb from operation which is to be expected.
