Ms Daniela Stan

Ms Daniela Stan, MSc Medical Ultrasound, is a London-based NHS and private Consultant Sonographer with more than 20 years’ experience in healthcare. She holds a medical degree from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy Carol Davila, Bucharest, Romania, and is licensed as a Medical Doctor in Family Medicine.

After graduating from medical school in 1997, Daniela developed a strong interest in diagnostic imaging and went on to complete a Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound Diploma in the United States in 2001. She undertook extensive postgraduate ultrasound training and internships at leading university hospitals and trauma centres in New York and New Jersey, gaining exposure to a wide range of pathologies and complex clinical scenarios. Following completion of her medical ultrasound qualification, she was appointed as a diagnostic ultrasound instructor, teaching postgraduate students while also working in university hospitals including the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, where she collaborated closely with vascular surgeons and academic clinicians, including providing intraoperative ultrasound support for interventional procedures.

Between 2003 and 2011, while based in the United States, Daniela completed multiple ARDMS (American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography) accreditations, including Obstetrics, Abdomen and Small Parts, Breast, and Vascular Ultrasound. In 2011, she relocated to the UK and joined the ultrasound team at Royal Free Hospital NHS Trust, where she worked as an Advanced Practitioner Sonographer, performing and reporting on a comprehensive range of ultrasound examinations across abdominal, pelvic, obstetric, breast, vascular, musculoskeletal, and small-parts imaging.

In 2014, Daniela completed a Master’s degree in Medical Ultrasound at Bournemouth University, gaining extensive specialist training in musculoskeletal ultrasound and ultrasound-guided injections. She is a longstanding member of the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography and the Alliance of Physician Certification & Advancement, and in the UK she is a member of the Society of Radiographers and the British Medical Ultrasound Society.

Daniela is the founder of Sonoworld Diagnostic Services, a private ultrasound practice based at the Hale Clinic. Through Sonoworld Diagnostics, she provides a wide range of advanced ultrasound examinations, including abdominal and pelvic imaging, obstetrics with 3D and 4D scanning, head and neck, breast, soft-tissue assessment, comprehensive vascular studies, and the full spectrum of musculoskeletal ultrasound. She also offers preventative wellbeing screening packages designed to support early detection of common conditions and help reduce the risk of serious illness through timely diagnosis and intervention.
