About Dr Chun-Man Lee

Dr Chun-Man Lee is a GMC-certified, board-accredited Consultant Dermatologist and Honorary Senior Lecturer, currently serving as Lead Clinician for Cutaneous Allergy and Inflammatory Skin Diseases at Frimley Park Hospital, part of Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust. He is also the Clinical Research Lead for Dermatology within the South East Thames Regional Network, where he oversees the integration of research into everyday clinical practice.

His expertise covers cutaneous allergy, paediatric dermatology, inflammatory skin diseases, and biologic therapies, with a particular focus on atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, and patch testing. As a dual adult and paediatric dermatologist, Dr Lee is recognised for delivering high-standard, evidence-based care to patients of all ages.

Dr Lee graduated from Barts and The London School of Medicine in 2006. Following a distinguished tenure in primary healthcare and occupational medicine with the British Army, he transitioned into internal medicine before completing his specialist dermatology training. In 2018, he obtained a Master’s degree in Aesthetic Medicine and Skin Ageing from the University of Manchester, graduating with Merit. His postgraduate research has led to several well-cited publications in the fields of cosmetic dermatology, skin ageing, and therapeutics.

An active researcher and educator, Dr Lee has been instrumental in advancing dermatological research at Frimley Health. He has served as a speaker-trainer and lead clinician in the UK multicentre Healthcare Resource Utilisation (HRCU) Project and as GIRFT Lead in the Management of Chronic Plaque Psoriasis, supporting the NHS’s commitment to high-quality, sustainable dermatology services.

In his role as Clinical Research Lead, Dr Lee is a strong advocate for embedding research as a core part of NHS practice, ensuring that innovation and data-driven insights translate into better patient outcomes. His work includes reviewing new research proposals, guiding trainee involvement, and representing dermatology at the Research Steering Group, fostering a culture of clinical excellence and collaboration.

01/04/2022 – Present  FRIMLEY PARK HOSPITAL Substantive (Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust) Consultant Dermatologist and Clinical Research Lead in Dermatology. Substantive Consultant (10.5PA), following formalising CESR on 22/01/24. Clinical Lead in Cutaneous Allergy, Consultant Dermatologist in Paediatric Dermatology, Biologic and Inflammatory Disease subspecialty clinics. I am currently clinical research lead in Dermatology Department at Frimley Park Hospital and Principle Investigator in two international, multicentred, observational studies.

 

My role (as Clinical Research Lead) is not onerous. Activities include:

1.  Reviewing expressions of interest for research studies and supporting prioritisation (Dermatology)

2.  Being an advocate for research within Dermatology and encouraging trainees to be involved
