Mr Chris Wakeling

Mr Chris Wakeling is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in lower-limb joint care, with a particular focus on hip and knee conditions. Dedicated to delivering compassionate and patient-centred care, he works closely with individuals to alleviate joint pain, enhance mobility, and restore overall function. His clinical practice encompasses a broad spectrum of interventions, ranging from conservative management strategies to complex surgical procedures.

Mr Wakeling completed his medical degree (MBChB) at Leicester University Medical School in 2005. Following his undergraduate studies, he completed core surgical training in Cornwall and subsequently undertook higher specialty orthopaedic training through the South-West London training programme. To refine his surgical practice, he completed advanced post-specialist fellowships specialising in complex primary and revision hip arthroplasty, as well as joint reconstruction techniques. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Trauma and Orthopaedics, and maintains active memberships with the British Orthopaedic Association, the British Hip Society, and the British Medical Association.

With a focus on modern surgical innovation, Mr Wakeling routinely performs robotic-assisted primary hip and knee replacements to enhance accuracy and support post-operative recovery. His clinical scope also includes revision joint procedures, arthroscopic keyhole knee surgery, cartilage treatments, and periprosthetic fracture care. In addition to his direct clinical practice, he is actively involved in surgical training and standard-setting initiatives aimed at improving long-term outcomes and patient satisfaction.
