Dr Catherine Mitchell is an experienced Consultant Clinical Oncologist who provides comprehensive, patient-centred care for individuals diagnosed with various forms of cancer. As a dedicated Consultant, she focuses on delivering personalised treatment plans that combine advanced medical knowledge with reassuring support. Dr Mitchell works closely alongside multidisciplinary teams to ensure that every patient receives seamless, coordinated care tailored to their specific medical requirements and personal preferences.

Her clinical practice encompasses a wide range of sub-specialties within oncology, with particular interest in Upper Gastrointestinal (UGI) cancers, germ cell tumours, and Cancer of Unknown Primary (CUP). Serving as an Acute Oncology Lead, Dr Mitchell is extensively involved in the evaluation and emergency management of urgent cancer-related complications, including Metastatic Spinal Cord Compression (MSCC). Her treatment strategies integrate modern therapeutic modalities, including chemotherapy, systemic anti-cancer therapies, and advanced radiotherapy techniques designed to achieve optimal clinical outcomes.

Dr Mitchell completed rigorous undergraduate medical training followed by higher specialist training in Clinical Oncology. She holds full medical registration on the Specialist Register for Clinical Oncology and maintains active professional memberships aligned with her specialty. In addition to her direct clinical duties, Dr Mitchell serves as a co-chair on regional clinical reference groups focused on acute oncology services.
