Miss Caroline McGuiness is a UK-trained consultant plastic surgeon able to give expert advice and care for hand, breast and cosmetic problems.

She has a patient-centred approach and always takes time to fully address patient concerns and tailor treatment plans for the individual. She has a wealth of experience in Plastic surgery, developed after years of working in the NHS looking after patients with difficult and varied clinical problems. She has a busy NHS hand, congenital hand and nerve practice and is also one of the senior breast reconstructive specialists where her aesthetic and cosmetic skills are of importance to her patients.

Hand surgery conditions commonly treated at New Hall are, for example, trigger fingers, ganglia, mucus cysts, hand tumours, carpal tunnel and cubital tunnel decompression, osteoarthritis of finger joints and the thumb base, rheumatoid arthritis, Dupuytren and tenosynovitis.

Cosmetic surgeries performed include breast reduction, breast uplift (mastopexy), breast augmentation, symmetrising breast surgery for congenital conditions, tummy tuck (abdominoplasty), abdominal wall weakness, liposuction, labiaplasty, fat fill (especially for breast or face), facelift, blepharoplasty (eye bag correction), prominent ear correction (pinnaplasty), split earlobe correction, dermabrasion, arm lift (brachioplasty), thigh lift, removal of skin lesions and scar revisions.

She can also provide a service for the treatment of lines and wrinkles, and fillers.

Miss McGuiness studied at King College School of Medicine and Dentistry, graduating in 1990 with her medical degree from the University of London. She became determined to become a plastic surgeon whilst visiting East Grinstead as a student and was fascinated by the World War II airmen and the physical and mental journey required for their recovery. Her training in Plastics took her to Aberdeen and Leicester, culminating in Leeds when she gained her FRCS (Plast). There she gained her skills in microsurgery, children and adult hands, limb and breast reconstruction and cosmetic surgery.

She moved to Salisbury becoming a fully-fledged Consultant Plastic Surgeon in 2006. She has taught and examined juniors, mentored consultant colleagues and published in plastic surgery journals as a consultant.
