Dr Brython Hywel

Dr Brython Hywel is a dedicated Consultant Neurologist and Clinical Neurophysiologist who provides comprehensive diagnostic assessments and clinical evaluations for patients experiencing neurological conditions. Specialising in the investigation of nerve and muscle disorders, Dr Hywel conducts diagnostic evaluations for a wide range of conditions, including peripheral neuropathy, entrapment neuropathies such as carpal tunnel syndrome and ulnar mononeuropathy, cervical and lumbar radiculopathy, and myopathy. He performs specialised diagnostic investigations, including nerve conduction studies, electromyography (EMG), and electroencephalography (EEG), to evaluate nerve function and muscular activity. In addition to neurophysiological testing, his clinical scope encompasses general neurological disorders, including migraines, epilepsy, and movement disorders, helping guide accurate diagnosis and tailored care plans.

Dr Hywel earned his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBCh) degree from Cardiff University in 2008. Following his medical degree, he completed foundation and core medical training before undertaking extensive higher specialist training in Neurology and Clinical Neurophysiology, qualifying as a Consultant in 2019. He remains active in professional development and clinical governance, serving as a Trustee of the British Society for Clinical Neurophysiology.
