Mrs Bolanle Shonubi

Mrs Bolanle Shonubi is a Psychotherapist with over 20 years of experience in counselling and psychotherapy. She is registered and accredited with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and holds an MSc in Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy. She has also undertaken specialist training in couples therapy and group therapy.

Mrs Shonubi works with adults aged 18 and over presenting with a wide range of psychological and emotional difficulties, including anxiety, depression, trauma, complex post-traumatic stress disorder (C-PTSD), emotional dysregulation, relationship difficulties, burnout, work-related stress, personality-related difficulties, and the impact of childhood neglect and abuse.

Her clinical approach is primarily psychodynamic, with a focus on exploring unconscious processes and their influence on current thoughts, feelings and behaviours. She integrates additional psychotherapeutic modalities where appropriate, tailoring treatment to individual client needs while maintaining a strong emphasis on the therapeutic relationship.

Alongside her private practice, Mrs Shonubi has experience working within NHS and specialist mental health services, supporting individuals with complex presentations including chronic anxiety, suicidal ideation, attachment difficulties and long-standing relational patterns. This experience has informed her ability to work with psychological complexity, emotional distress and risk.

Her practice provides a confidential and structured therapeutic environment, delivered both in-person in Buckhurst Hill and online. She supports clients in developing emotional insight, improving resilience and working towards meaningful psychological change through a consistent and reflective therapeutic process.
