Miss Bianca Vriens

Miss Bianca Vriens is a Consultant General, Vascular and Endovascular Surgeon based in Colchester, practicing with the NHS at at East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust and privately at Ramsay Health Care, Oaks Hospital.

Miss Vriens has > 20 years experience in varicose vein treatment, including minimally invasive procedures such as radiofrequency ablation, laser therapy, and foam sclerotherapy. Besides that she treats patients with circulation problems due to narrow or blocked blood vessels with balloon angioplasty or bypass surgery.

As clinical director of the AAA screening programme she also has expertise in of the aneurysm repair(open and minimal invasive). Besides that Miss Vriens performs carotid surgery, dialysis access and treat patients  for diabetic foot management.

In general surgery she performs operations for lumps and bumps.

Miss Vriens completed her medical degree (MD) alongside a BSc and MSc at Erasmus University, Rotterdam, graduating in 2003. Her specialist vascular and endovascular training took place in the Netherlands. After becoming a Consultant in 2013, she completed an advanced post-CCT fellowship in endovascular surgery at St George’s Hospital, London and holds fellowships from both the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) and the European Board of Vascular Surgery (FEBVS).

In addition to her clinical work, Miss Vriens is active in research, teaching, and surgical training, and has presented widely at national and international conferences.

Her results are excellent and recorded in the National Vascular Registry

During her childhood and as a medical student Misss Vriens was also a top-level gymnast.

Nowadays she enjoys skiing, sailing, cooking, travelling and spending time with her family.
