Mr Benjamin Quansah

Mr Benjamin Quansah is a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon who specialises in lower limb joint reconstruction, focusing particularly on hip and knee conditions. He offers patient-centred care for individuals experiencing joint pain, mobility limitations, and complex orthopaedic issues. Working collaboratively with patients to understand their individual needs and goals, Mr Quansah evaluates clinical options to deliver effective surgical solutions designed to restore function and enhance quality of life.

His clinical practice encompasses a broad spectrum of surgical procedures, including primary total hip replacement, primary total knee replacement, unicompartmental knee replacement, and knee arthroscopy. Mr Quansah possesses focused expertise in revision knee surgery, including the evaluation and treatment of failing joint implants, injuries around joint replacements, and infected joint replacements. He incorporates modern surgical techniques into his practice, including computer-navigated knee replacement and robotic-assisted arthroplasty, to achieve optimal surgical accuracy and long-lasting outcomes.

Mr Quansah completed his medical degree (MBBS) at University College London, alongside an intercalated Bachelor of Science (iBSc) in Psychology. Following his graduation, he completed higher specialist orthopaedic surgical training in the East of England Deanery. He subsequently undertook advanced international and national fellowships in joint reconstruction, gaining expertise in high-volume primary and revision joint replacements as well as complex lower limb trauma. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) and a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons (MRCS). His professional memberships include the British Orthopaedic Association (BOA), the British Hip Society (BHS), the British Association for Surgery of the Knee (BASK), the Medical Defence Union (MDU), and the General Medical Council (GMC).
