Dr Ashwin Radhakrishnan

Dr Ashwin Radhakrishnan is a Consultant Interventional Cardiologist who provides comprehensive cardiovascular care to his patients. Dedicated to delivering patient-centred, evidence-based management, he specialises in diagnosing and treating a broad range of cardiac conditions. His clinical practice encompasses both general cardiology and advanced interventional procedures, focusing on restoring heart health and enhancing long-term quality of life for individuals experiencing cardiovascular disease.

Dr Radhakrishnan earned his Bachelor of Medical Science and Bachelor of Medicine with Honours from the University of Southampton in 2012. He completed his specialist cardiology higher training within the West Midlands Deanery and attained Membership of the Royal College of Physicians. Furthering his academic expertise, he completed a Doctor of Medicine research degree at the University of Birmingham, where his work focused on coronary microvascular dysfunction in patients with chronic kidney disease. He maintains active membership with the Royal College of Physicians.

In his clinical practice, Dr Radhakrishnan focuses on interventional cardiology, with expertise in complex percutaneous coronary intervention and stent implantation. He holds a particular clinical interest in cardiorenal medicine, evaluating and treating the complex interactions between heart and kidney health, alongside managing acute myocardial infarction, coronary artery disease, and microvascular dysfunction. His practice blends advanced interventional techniques with personalised antiplatelet and medical therapy to ensure individualised treatment plans for every patient.
