Dr Anna Casburn-Jones

Dr Anna Casburn-Jones is a highly respected Consultant Gastroenterologist and Honorary Senior Lecturer who provides expert care for patients experiencing a wide range of digestive health conditions. With a reassuring and patient-centred approach, she is dedicated to diagnosing and managing complex gastrointestinal issues. Her clinical practice encompasses general internal medicine and gastroenterology, with a particular specialist interest in functional gut disorders, which affect the normal activity of the digestive tract.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr Casburn-Jones has a strong background in medical research and healthcare leadership. She has conducted significant research into infectious gastroenterology and the enteric nervous system, presenting her findings to both national and international audiences. Her commitment to improving patient care is further demonstrated by her extensive work in clinical systems leadership, healthcare policy, and quality assurance, helping to shape and refine medical services to ensure the highest standards of patient safety.

Dr Casburn-Jones qualified in medicine from the University of London (Royal Free/UCLH) in 1992. She subsequently completed her specialist training in gastroenterology and general internal medicine on the north east London rotation. Committed to continuous professional development, she went on to obtain a Master of Science in Health Policy from Imperial College London in 2014. She is a Member of the Royal College of Physicians and a Fellow of the Institute of Leadership and Management.
