Mr Angus Arthur

Mr Angus Arthur is a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon, specialising in shoulder, elbow and upper limb surgery. He is based in Glasgow, Scotland, where he has been working since 2009. He has expertise in a range of surgical techniques and procedures including joint replacement, complex injury management and keyhole surgery. With nearly 30 years of clinical experience, he is an expert in his field and he provides a tertiary referral service in his area where he sees those with challenging cases or who have had previously unsuccessful attempts at treatment. He treats a range of conditions including rotator cuff tears, impingement, shoulder instability and dislocation, tendon issues, arthritis, fractures, frozen shoulder and sports injuries. His clinical approach is evidence-based and informed by his significant NHS experience.

Mr Arthur completed his degree in Medicine from the University of Glasgow in 1997. After completing surgical training, he undertook an advanced fellowship at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge, which is a leading centre within the UK in upper-limb surgeries. He has additional experience in treating high impact sporting injuries after gaining experience working on ski patrol teams. Outside of his clinical work, Mr Arthus has contributed to research in his field and has authored multiple articles in peer-reviewed journals. Additionally, he is passionate about medical education and teaches medical students and surgical trainees regularly. He teaches nationally on topics such as upper limb trauma management and arthroscopic shoulder and elbow surgery. He also offers medico-legal opinions for negligence and personal injury claims. His commitment to teaching and research ensures his practice remains up-to-date with the latest evidence.
