Dr. Alpa Kanji

Dr Alpa Kanji is a Consultant Dermatologist with expertise in treating adults and children with a wide range of skin conditions, including eczema, psoriasis, acne, vitiligo, pigmentation disorders and hair loss. She also provides skin cancer screening, mole checks and performs minor skin surgery.

Alongside her private practice, Dr Kanji works at St John’s Institute of Dermatology at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust and University Hospital Lewisham. She is clinical lead for paediatric dermatology at University Hospital Lewisham.  She studied Medicine at King’s College London, undertook specialist dermatology training in London and gained international experience at Harvard University’s Brigham and Women’s Hospital. She went on to complete a senior fellowship in paediatric dermatology at St John’s Institute of Dermatology.

Dr Kanji also holds a degree in Natural Sciences and a PhD in Molecular Microbiology from the University of Cambridge. Passionate about advancing dermatological care, she has contributed to leading research and clinical trials, published widely in peer-reviewed journals, and held an honorary appointment as Senior Clinical Lecturer at Imperial College London. She has also been appointed to the Medical Advisory Board for the National Eczema Society.
