Mr Alistair Sharples is a Consultant General Surgeon who specialises in Upper GI Surgery, Hepatobiliary Surgery and Bariatric Surgery. He is based in the West Midlands and currently practises at Infinity Surgery and Rowley Hall Hospital, Staffordshire.

Mr Sharples received his medical degree from the University of Manchester in 2006. He then completed post-qualification surgical training in hospitals in the West Midlands and fellowship training in Bariatric and Minimally Invasive Surgery in Canada at the University of Manitoba. He also was selected for a Fellowship at the Royal College of Surgeons of England. He completed a Master's degree in Trauma Science at Queen Mary University of London and was awarded a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education from Dundee University.

He has high quality expertise in all areas of benign upper GI surgery, general surgery and bariatric surgery, alongside expertise in hepatobiliary and breast surgery. He typically sees patients with conditions such as hernia, GORD, appendicitis, pancreatitis, gallstones, lipoma and obesity. He is skilled in carrying out both open and laparoscopic (keyhole) surgeries and weight loss surgeries as well as the following procedures:

• Cholecystectomy
• Anti-reflux surgery
• Appendicectomy
• Endovenous laser treatment (EVLA)
