Visioncare Medical Eye Centre is an established, independent group of optical practices that have served the local community since 1984. Their mission is to provide the highest quality of personalised eye care and the most individual visual correction to every client. In support of this, Visioncare is committed to utilising the latest technology, products and training for their staff. The Visioncare Medical Eye Centre Harrrow practice prides itself on offering patients the highest level of professional eye care service using the latest technology. The practice offers a comprehensive range of treatments for common and uncommon eye conditions, and aims to ensure that patients benefit from optimum vision, and that any early warning signs of eye diseases and conditions are detected. The practice also makes 90% of its own lenses.

The practice offers the usual range of optometry services including regular eye examinations, which are vital for identifying changes in eye health and vision, and in assisting with early detection of underlying medical conditions such as diabetes and high blood pressure. The practice utilises the latest technology and instruments, including OCT retinal imaging, Optomap, the Humphrey Visual Field test, corneal topography (scan), and pachymetry (measurement of the depth of the thinnest point of the cornea using scanning devices).

The practice also offers a comprehensive contact lens service, specialising in all types of contact lenses, including medical lenses, astigmatic lenses etc

Specialist treatments offered include:

• Dry eye treatment, punctum plugs
• Medical contact lenses , keratoconus, post graft
• Orthokeratology (Ortho-K) (an alternative to laser eye surgery)
• Myopia control treatment
• Colorimetry and visual stress.

Visioncare Medical Eye Centre staff work in tandem with general practitioners and hospital eye departments, and also offer weekly specialist clinics for glaucoma and primary eye care affiliated to Moorfields Eye Hospital. In addition, they provide specialist children's clinics, including the use of colorimetry and colour filters for children who display problems with reading at lens trial. Mr B Rughani, the Consultant Optometrist, also works at Moorfieds and Harley St.

Visioncare Medical Eye Centre also offers home eye care services comprising:

• Private eye examinations and tests (free NHS eye tests for eligible patients)
• Dispensing services including magnifying aids and lighting equipment for low-vision patients
• Personally fitted spectacles, with any necessary adjustments done at the patient's home on the delivery day
• Free 12-month aftercare service.
