At Ruislip Ear Care, the treatment procedure begins by thoroughly explaining each step to the patient, ensuring their understanding and obtaining consent. The patient's history of previous microsuction procedures is checked, and they are briefed on the noise associated with the procedure, with reassurance that breaks can be requested at any time.

An ear examination is carried out using an otoscope to assess safety for the procedure, accompanied by attentive listening to the patient's symptoms and a detailed medical history. The ear cavity, tympanic membrane, or any remnants of the eardrum are carefully examined to determine the appropriate size of the suction tip.

The suction machine is then activated, adhering to the pressure guidelines provided by the manufacturer. Ear wax is gently removed using a medical-grade microsuction unit, followed by a thorough re-examination and final checks performed with an ENT surgical binocular microscope.

To ensure the effectiveness of the procedure, a complimentary follow-up appointment is offered. Should any abnormalities be detected during the process, prompt referral to a GP or the ENT department is arranged for further evaluation.
