Nihr Arc South West Peninsula

The NIHR Applied Research Collaboration (ARC) South West Peninsula is a partnership between the NHS, universities, and local authorities in the South West of England. The ARC aims to improve the health and care of people in the region by bringing together researchers, clinicians, and patients to develop and test new treatments, interventions, and technologies.

The ARC South West Peninsula is based in Exeter and covers a population of over 5 million people. It is one of 15 ARCs across England, each of which is focused on a different area of health and care. The ARC South West Peninsula is focused on four key areas:

• Ageing and frailty
• Mental health
• Multimorbidity
• Primary care

The ARC South West Peninsula is committed to working with patients and the public to ensure that its research is relevant and impactful. The ARC has a number of public involvement activities, including a Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) Forum and a PPI Champions Network.
