Had cataract by Julian Robins, Consultant at Newmedica Northants. Excellent , explained all. Talked me through as was very nervous, was quick and efficient. Only want to see him for other eye, Thank you

I was greeted by a member of the Newmedica Northampton team on the day and I answered the pre-op questions before being shown to the waiting area. Glenda described the upcoming procedure and put me at my ease. Once the eye drops had taken effect I was admitted to the operating theatre and prepared for the procedure. Mr Kumar had examined both eyes a little earlier and now the procedure commenced, I was aware of a light in the eye and fluid running down my cheek, in around 15 minutes Mr Kumar told me that the operation was successful and I went into post-op for appraisal before being escorted to the door. The whole experience was straightforward and pain free, this was my first eye and the second will follow in four to six weeks time. I would encourage anyone with concerns to be confident in the professional calibre of the Newmedica staff, you will be in good hands. Thank you Michael H.

Efficient friendly staff who took the utmost care to make me feel safe and calm. Surgery carried out with care and kindness. Theatre staff excellent. Pre- and post-op nurses nurses kind and friendly.

Cataract operation. Excellent communication from assessment to end of the surgery. All team members polite, professional yet riendly.

Bilateral same day cataract removal plus Puresee lenses, private patient. Operated on 6 days after consult. Excellent service. No special treatment for private patients apart from speed and lens choice. I was ok with that. All staff pleasant and professional. Results is perfect vision at all distances. I can read quite small print and my phone well which is much better than expected. Very small, print in poor light may require some low strength readers but not sure as early days yet. Haven’t checked for driving glare yet but I am pretty confident that will be ok. Had some multi coloured halos around ceiling lights the first day after surgery. Not a problem since day 2. So far much better result than I could have anticipated. The eyedrops occasionally sting a little.
